Individual bins were donated by Saint-Gobain Containers, and roll-off recycling containers are donated by Strategic Materials. The glass will be collected and sorted by color, and Verallia North America, which has a production facility in Dunkirk, will melt and mold the glass into new bottles. This fantastic news is due, in very large part, to IRC supermember and Union Jack’s part-owner Brenda Rising-Moore. Congratulations and thank you Brenda! Second, Saint-Gobain recently unveiled its new and improved Captain Cullet website, which is dedicated to education about and promotion of glass recycling. On the site (www.captaincullet.com), parents, teachers and kids can find fun and informative material about glass recycling including virtual teachers, videos and games to download.
